Asking God for Help

Sometimes we just need help.
I call with my whole heart; answer me, O Lord, that I may keep your statutes. I call to you; oh, that you would save me! I will keep your decrees. Early in the morning I cry out to you, for in your word is my trust. My eyes are open in the night watches, that I may meditate upon your promise. Hear my voice, O Lord, according to your loving-kindness; according to your judgments, give me life. They draw near who in malice persecute me; they are very far from your law. You, O Lord, are near at hand, and all your commandments are true. Long have I known from your decrees that you have established them for ever. - Psalm 119
God is always there for us. We know that and we put all our faith in that.
But sometimes we panic. We feel the whole world is closing in on us and we are all alone.
That is when we cry out to God for help.
We believe He will help us because He has made that promise to us. We are His and He is with us always, never to abandon us.
Yet, at times, we feel He may be too busy to hear us. His response is not as swift as we would like. He seems far away.
Should we just be patient? Or should we let God know how anxious we are?
The psalmist chooses to remind God of His promise, and that eases his fears.
What it comes down to, I think, is a need for us to constantly talk to and with God. He is there for us, so why not reach out to Him.
The stronger our relationship with Him, the more likely we will be at ease when times are tough.
More to come...
