Becoming Aware
When did you become aware of God's presence in your life?
Are you sure you fully comprehend what it means to be a child of God?
"Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into human hands." But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was concealed from them, so that they could not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying - Luke 9:44-45
In today's reading from Luke, we once again see Jesus get angry. He is frustrated. People are coming to him for healing, telling him his disciples cannot do it.
Would he be frustrated with us too?
We may think we can do so little to heal a broken world, but are we really trying?
Do we have enough faith in God and in ourselves to give it a real try?
The message today is a short and simple one. Go and do.
We are empowered by God to recreate the world in His image and that means getting out there one on one with others and getting involved.
Today as some become ordained and others graduate from college to begin their lives as engaged, productive members of His Kingdom, I pray they carry the Holy Spirit in their minds, hearts and souls and do the good work God has prepared for them.
We, too can and should do this.
