Christ In Us
Micah 7:7-15
Have people ever mocked you for your faith in God?

But as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me. I must bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he takes my side and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out to the light; I shall see his vindication. Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, "Where is the Lord your God?" My eyes will see her downfall; now she will be trodden down like the mire of the streets. A day for the building of your walls! In that day the boundary shall be far extended. In that day they will come to you from Assyria to Egypt, and from Egypt to the River, from sea to sea and from mountain to mountain. But the earth will be desolate because of its inhabitants, for the fruit of their doings. Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock that belongs to you, which lives alone in a forest in the midst of a garden land; let them feed in Bashan and Gilead as in the days of old. As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt, show us marvelous things. - Micah 7:7-15
Maybe they see you praying and shake their heads.
They may not come right out and say, "Where is your God in these troubled times?" but they try to make you feel foolish for believing God hears you when you pray.
It is easy to believe when our prayers are answered the way we want them to be answered. Remember when Jesus said that it is easy to love those who love you?
True faith is the ability to continue believing when things do not go as you would like.
Where is your God in your suffering?
If we examine the history of God's people in the Bible closely, we see that it is through the faith of one or many generations that the rewards are passed down to their descendants.
In a way, we are all in a clinical trial for those who come after us.
We are the test of the cure, which will be made available to those who get sick after we are gone.
It is through our commitment to God that the world is made whole, maybe not in our lifetime, but eventually.
So, this is why people look at our condition and say, "Where is your God?"
It is the story of Job. That is how the world works.
We all suffer our pains and troubles so that those who come after us don't have to do the same.
I believe so others may live.
That is selfless. That is Christ in us.
More to come...
