Divine Intelligence

A lot can be summed up in just a few choice words.
One of the scribes came near and heard Jesus and the Saducees disputing with one another, and seeing that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which commandment is the first of all?” Jesus answered, “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Then the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher; you have truly said that ‘he is one, and besides him there is no other’; and ‘to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength,’ and ‘to love one’s neighbor as oneself,’ —this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” After that no one dared to ask him any question. - Mark 12:28–34
I have been using AI tools to organize and simplify my messages and thoughts and I find it very helpful.
It gives me another way of saying what I am trying to say.
Today's Gospel reading from Mark is summarized by Jesus in just two sentences that carry great meaning, encompassing the law and the prophets in fewer words.
You could say he applied Divine Intelligence (DI) to the task of simplifying what the scribe sought, insight into the purpose of the commandments.
Don't we all seek a simpler, more memorable guide for our daily lives?
How much simpler can we get than this? It's all about love.
But we rely on Human Intelligence and now assisted by Artificial Intelligence, to guide us, and that could be a problem.
When we try to simplify anything, we tend to overthink it, and in the end, only complicate everything.
And, of course, we don't all agree on what actions are truly signs of love and what only adds to the pain and suffering.
So, we struggle to do as Jesus said, and we look for guidance where we can get it.
That's not so bad. But maybe we should start with prayer.
That could be the best way to go.
More to come...
