Going All In

If every time you attempt to do something good, it turns out bad, you would probably give up in disgust.
The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. - 2 Corinthians 9:6
In today's reading we discover a simple truth. The more we do, the better the outcomes will be.
If I risk little, then chances are, I will gain little.
It is an expensive proposition to invest heavily in a project whose outcomes are unpredictable. We like assurances, so we take small risks, hoping to test the waters before plunging in head-first.
But what if we had faith in the outcomes? What if we truly believed we would achieve great results if we invested heavily, wouldn't we be more apt to go all in?
Jesus's message is just that, go all in. Trust in me, plant many seeds, and the harvest will be great.
Now if we believe he was talking about worldly wealth, we will be disappointed. When we go all in for God, we are investing in healing.
Today, fifty or more families will come to our food pantry. They will be able to choose the food they need from a selection that will be greater than the total of what they will take. And because there will be an abundance, they will be patient, not worried they will miss out.
Word will spread, and more will come next time.
When we do God's work, we have to believe the outcomes are not just possible, but guaranteed. It is by being all in that we encourage others to do as we do, ad eventually, everyone is in the business of helping those in need.
We don't need a monopoly. We need a cooperative.
The more seeds are planted, the greater the harvest. It is that simple.
So, believe and it will be. Believe we can heal the world and we will accomplish it. We just have to be willing to be all in.
More to come...
