If Not Now, When?

If Not Now, When - Jews against the war
Yesterday, a group of people came together to try to save lives. They are Arabs and Jews who do not want to kill each other, but live in harmony.
They have created a community on Facebook, Jews and Arabs Refuse to be Enemies.
It is one of a series of new pages and sites devoted to mobilizing people to persuade the United Nations and governments around the world to stop the fighting, end the battle that has raged between God's Children throughout history.
The Israelites again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD gave them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. - Judges 13:1
The Bible tells us that we are all guilty of falling short of the goal. We fail repeatedly to listen to God, and worse, we put God in the battles we fight with each other, choosing to believe that it is His work we are doing when we take matters into our own hands.
When our actions go against our faith, who are we following?
The organization, #IfNotNow is made up of Jews who are opposed to the war in Gaza. It has begin raising awareness of its mission through non-violent protests in New York City, and has already spread to nine other cities across the country, building a network of action against the war.
Should we support such movements?
What if they turn violent the way so many other religious and political actions have in the past?
I believe we need to let people know about them and all movements like these that cry out for peace and fellowship rather than hatred and death.
So, I have started a Flipboard Magazine called All God's Children, to document whatever news I can find about the actions of God's Children everywhere seeking peace. If you would like to contribute to this magazine, follow this link to learn more.
If you are not familiar with Flipboard, you can learn more here. You can download the app to your phone and stay current with news and other topics you want to follow, or start your own magazine to get the word out on a topic of interest to you.
We cannot fight against oppression and violence without speaking up, and in today's high-tech world, social media is the quickest way to be heard.
Of course, many don't agree that we should try to live in peace, and they have ways of being heard as well. So it is a battle of words and actions.
In the end, someone will win. Will the LORD be pleased with us? Or will the LORD see that we have done what is evil?
More to come...
