Judgment Call

Today is a good day.
Some judge one day to be better than another, while others judge all days to be alike. Let all be fully convinced in their own minds. Those who observe the day, observe it in honor of the Lord. Also those who eat, eat in honor of the Lord, since they give thanks to God; while those who abstain, abstain in honor of the Lord and give thanks to God. - Romans 14:5-6
How many times have I said, "Today is a bad day"?
It is not the day that is bad, but the things that happened during the day. It is a judgment call. If we look at each day as a gift from God, who are we to toss one aside, to write it off as bad?
Sure, some days are more difficult than others. For some, all days are difficult, so they could say all days are bad. While others see all days as good.
When we compare our days to the days of others, we may be thankful we are not them, but that is not the message here. For all, the days come as they do. What we do with them is our choice. How we perceive them is ours as well.
How many times have you dreaded the day only to find it much better than you expected by its end?
The opposite may be true as well. We could have high expectations at the start and end on a down note. But in either case, the day was a gift from God.
So, why not remind ourselves of that? And at the end of each day, we can offer it back up to God with thanks, for we all end with the hope of getting another to call good or bad again.
More to come...
