Love is

Is there anything more joyful and frightening as being engaged to be married?
It is a wonderfully exciting and anxious time. So much needs to be decided upon and for two people who have only just begun to know each other, those decisions could trigger emotions and uncertainties.
Today's reading from Corinthians includes a passage many young couples will pick for their wedding and yet it is a tough set of requirements for anyone to follow.
Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Of all the things that love is and is not, it is what love does that has the power to turn two strangers into life long mates It rejoices in the truth. It bears all things and endures all.
Twenty four years ago this month, my wife to become and I listened to these words believing that every moment ahead would be better encountered together than alone. And we were right.
With every twist and turn and unexpected setback, our love not only endured but it grew.
I could not imagine what life would have been like with anyone else. So it is my prayer for all who are engaged now and in times to come that love will blossom in truth and trust, joy and excitement, strength and support, moment by moment from the day they make their vows for the rest of their lives.
May each day be the best day possible and the best day ever.
Love is real.
More to come.
