Seeing is Believing

Sometimes we just need to see for ourselves in order to believe.
Later he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were sitting at the table; and he upbraided them for their lack of faith and stubbornness, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation." - Mark 16:14-15
If believing without seeing is so difficult, how hard would it have been for the disciples to convince those they told?
They would probably tell people how Jesus died and was resurrected, and that would be a real attention getter, but then what?
What am I to do with that information?
Believing is not just about believing. It is about changing my life because I believe. The real news is about what this world can be like now that the power of evil and sin is overcome, and that comes to us through Jesus.
Of course, we may be content living in our faith, knowing we are loved and leave it there, never venturing out to share what we know with others.
But Jesus commanded his disciples to go and save others as he saved them.
So, what is it we do with our faith?
We can begin by changing our lives, focusing on helping others, showing the love we have for all. That may help those who struggle to believe to see what has been invisible to them in their lives.
For if seeing is believing, then we need to be seen believing.
More to come...
