Streaming Corruption

Have you ever looked closely at those streams of condensation left by jets crossing the sky?
They are called contrails (condensation trails) and they tend to fade away as the ice crystals that make them up are dispersed into the air.
Some people think that trails that tend to spread out and hang around for a while are not just water vapor, but chemicals, making them chemtrails. But that isn't the case. Trails do not need to be corrupted with chemicals to linger and spread out.
So, when it comes to vapor trails in the sky, it is hard to tell if they are corrupt or not.
Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature. For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. - 2 Peter 1:4-7
Corruption is one of those things that we believe we can spot wherever it raises its head, but like witness testimony, that account is not always reliable.
It may not be as obvious as we think.
In today's reading, Peter blames corruption on lust. Lust for power, lust for control, lust for pleasure, they are all drivers of our emotions and thought, and all can lead us into trouble.
How do we over come the influence of these drivers?
We need to walk down the path of faith, from goodness to knowledge to self-control to endurance to godliness to mutual affection and then to love.
Who could ask for a better recipe for loving one another and avoiding corruption?
So, now that we know how to overcome the lustful temptations of corruption, how do we teach that to the others?
Dear Leaders of the World...
I'm not sure that will work, but we can try.
More to come...
