Task at Hand

It is our job to fix what is wrong in this world.
Now God did not subject the coming world, about which we are speaking, to angels. But someone has testified somewhere, ‘What are human beings that you are mindful of them, or mortals, that you care for them? You have made them for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned them with glory and honor, subjecting all things under their feet.’ Now in subjecting all things to them, God left nothing outside their control. - Hebrews 2:5-8
God left the world in our hands, giving us dominion and control. We are our own solution, if we choose to accept the authority we have been given. The choice is ours to make.
Right now, in the midst of a global pandemic, we are called to action, and the best of the best of humankind is working to do all it can imagine to set the world right again.
Yes, God and the angels are there to help us, but it is up to us to bear the burdens and make the sacrifices necessary to stop the spread long enough for lives to be saved and the threat is conquered.
Rarely do we all come together like this, and we should not lose sight of the significance of our commitment to life and one another as a people of God.
Those who fail to take the threat seriously put themselves and others in danger, and the task of healing will take longer.
I believe God gave us everything we need to deal with this crisis and take control of it. We just have to trust in God and trust ourselves to make the right decisions.
It is more than an inconvenience. It is scary and real.
But we can get through this and when we do, we should hold onto the commitment we have made now to love and care for one another. Our survival depends on it.
More to come...
