Uber Messengers

Even in our lowest moments, we are not alone.
The LORD watches over the innocent; I was brought very low, and he helped me. Turn again to your rest, O my soul. for the LORD has treated you well. - Psalm 116:5-6
There are times when it seem like everything is working against us. In those moments, we feel alone and restless.
The psalmist tells us that there is rest for the soul in knowing that God is with us, seeking to help us in those deep dark times.
It doesn't take much to make a difference in someone's day. I have found a simple gesture, like a cool drink on a hot day can bring hope to someone in despair.
I believe God is always looking for people he can send our way to help us. Time and again in the books of the Bible, we read of God's messengers, called and chosen to bring help to those in need.
We can be those people for others, just as others are those people for us.
And we can call for help through prayer.
It's kind of like God's Uber. Instead of calling for a ride from someone local who is ready to answer, we pray and God seeks out those who are ready to serve.
It doesn't take much to get ready to respond to God's call to serve. You just have to be willing to listen.
He will make the situation known and you will get the message. And over time, you will not even need to hear Him calling you. You will find the opportunities to serve seemingly without any help from Him.
And there is a way to let people know you are one of God's Uber messengers. Just wear a smile.
More to come...
