Unjudged

The season of Advent is a reminder that God is always there.
Remember, O LORD, your compassion and love, for they are from everlasting. Remember not the sins of my youth and my transgressions; remember me according to your love and for the sake of your goodness, O LORD. Gracious and upright is the LORD; therefore he teaches sinners in his way. He guides the humble in doing right and teaches his way to the lowly. All the paths of the LORD are love and faithfulness to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies. - Psalm 25:5-9
As the Psalmist prays, God is forgiving. No matter what we do, or how far we go away from God, we can always turn back.
People flocked to John the Baptist in the wilderness because he gave them hope. He told them the time is now to change our ways and be welcomed back home to God.
We may think the incentive for doing good is fear, since we often hear of the judgment of God, but the psalmist tells us God's ways are love and faithfulness.
Regardless of how the world judges us, in God's eyes, we are loved. We can become unjudged by turning to God.
Now, we may not feel the same way about someone. We may have a hard time forgiving, and we may never forget, but God is different.
So, we should refrain from judging, for it is not up to us to do what God is willing to undo. That's hard, though. Because we need to keep order and peace, and how are we to do that without holding people accountable for their actions?
I guess we need God's help in that. He is the source of wisdom and love.
More to come...
