Wolf Packs

Sometimes I feel I am not well equipped to deal with some of the things that come my way.
See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. - Matthew 10:16
Some of the people who come to our soup kitchen for meals each day are dealing with situations that are beyond my comprehension.
Their demons are real and difficult to escape from.
My innocence is apparent. I have little or no experience with what they are dealing with. I have never endured such despair, living with no solution in sight.
So, where is the wisdom of serpents that I need to help them?
What clever device or scheme will pop into my head to guide them down the right path and turn them around?
Maybe the wisdom comes in another way. Maybe the solution is not the obvious one, but something totally off the wall.
The obvious will lead us down the road that is filled with obstacles. That is how the problem became so complicated, with one issue compounding another.
The answer, then may be to go a different way, to seek where others are not looking.
Like problems, wolves work in packs, attacking en masse, overwhelming their prey.
To scare away the wolves, we need to think like them, to gather support together and attack as a pack.
I don't yet know how that translates into a strategy for helping those in need, but I will keep thinking about it, and maybe I will find the answer.
In the mean time, I need to find others to join the pack.
More to come...
