Worldly People

Who are the people causing divisions today?
But you, beloved, must remember the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; for they said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, indulging their own ungodly lusts.” It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions. But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on some who are wavering; save others by snatching them out of the fire; and have mercy on still others with fear, hating even the tunic defiled by their bodies. Now to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to make you stand without blemish in the presence of his glory with rejoicing, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. - Jude 17-25
Jude tells us the role of a Christian is to snatch them out of the fire, to save them from themselves, to be the one who keeps others from falling into the pit.
But he also warns us about those who are so convicted to their ways that they cannot be swayed. These are the ones who are dangerous, who would do harm rather than listen to reason.
I wonder if this is our problem today. Have we lost a large number of souls because we let them be? Did we fail to talk to them when they could be reached, and now it is too late?
There were some that Jesus didn't try to save. They were the ones he held accountable for leading the Children of God astray.
So, there are two types of people. There are those we can reach and those too far gone to be saved.
Both are worldly people, and if we do nothing, all will be too far along to help.
More to come...
